An urgent request from Oat Global, and more!
Submitted by Charlene Wight on Thu, 07/02/2026 - 08:15
Oat Global is requesting help from the larger oat community. Changes to federal funding rules could have a serious impact on oat research in the United States. Please read this document and submit your comments before the July 11th deadline.
While I have your attention, there are more time-sensitive items to share, including:
- A job opportunity for a postdoctoral position at North Dakota State University working closely with plant breeders "to develop and implement data-driven solutions that accelerate genetic gain in small grain cereals", and
- A call for letters of intent from the Grain Farmers of Ontario for research focussing on Agronomy and Production; Weeds, Diseases, and Insect Pests; Crop Quality and Utilization; or Breeding and Genetics.
Note, also, that quite a number of events were added to this week's "Weekly Web Harvest", including various field days and the World Porridge Eating Championship in Corby, UK, on July 11th and 12th!
Thank you for your help and continued support of the community!
